Turkey Bowl Shootout

HLfsair

Just got an update from one of our flow riders, Hunter Long… she cleaned up at this years Turkey Bowl Shootout in Hawaii! Congrats! Hunter took 1st place in the Women’s Division and 4th place in the Open Pro/Am. While at the Turkey Bowl Shootout, she skated in two separate bowls, busting a variety of coping tricks and big front side airs earning her the top spot in the competition.

MAPS in Tokyo

The event was great last night in Tokyo at MAPS.. Many of the same faces were there from the Ebina event the weekend before- and some new faces too! The park was fun and the vert ramp was fast, and built well. My friends Mari and Keiko (both Japanese pro snowboarders) were there too, so it was nice to see them again as well.  I also got to skate with Gen-Kun, a guy I had skated Encinitas with a couple of years ago. I gave out posters and hung out with the kids for awhile..and we ended the night with a good session on vert and my Dad snapped some photos for us! A big thank you to Takashi who helped coordinate both events, and helped us tremendously with transportation!

Skate Viking Event in Ebina, Japan

I wanted to share some of the pictures from the Skate Viking event in Ebina, Japan this past weekend. There were a lot of girls that came out for the event- and they all skated really, really good.. It was a unique experience for me to meet Japanese girl skaters and to get to skate with them, and meet their families.

More of my travels in Japan

A couple of days ago, I went to visit my friend, Keiko, in the town of Onjuku. I know Keiko b/c we are Nikita teammates and have traveled together many different times in the past on photoshoots, etc. So, I was excited to finally visit her at her home in Japan. She and her husband have a little skatepark and cafe called the Nikita Cafe and Park. It is a well-kept, charming little skatepark and it was so fun to session with Keiko! Thanks, Keiko! And thanks to my Dad for taking awesome photos!

Japan

Check out some pics from my trip to Japan so far… I was in a hilly village called Hakone all weekend with my parents checking out Japanese gardens and hot springs. It was awesome! I also found a little skatepark in Enoshima (about 40 mins from where my parents live). There were also a lot of surfers there too. The food here is amazing and I can’t wait see more!

I will keep you guys posted on my trip !
